50+ years in Everyday Foodservice

The person running the kitchen deserves a seat at the table.

Mark Freeman — CEO of Freeman Food Group, founder of Grey Hair Wisdom, and author. Half a century in the kitchens, cafeterias, and boardrooms that feed America.

The story

A career built from the ground up.

Mark Freeman has spent 50+ years inside Everyday Foodservice. He started on the floor and worked his way into the leadership roles that shaped how some of America's most recognized organizations feed their people.

Twenty-six years in campus dining gave Mark an education no classroom could match — the rhythms of large-scale operations, the complexity of serving thousands of different people with one menu, and the leadership lessons that only come from running a kitchen that never closes.

From there he moved into corporate dining — HP, Ford, LinkedIn — before landing at Microsoft, where he spent 13 years leading one of the most ambitious corporate foodservice programs in the world. At its peak, Microsoft Dining served roughly 60,000 meals a day across 90 destinations on the Redmond campus and beyond.

Today, Mark runs Freeman Food Group — publishing the Grey Hair Wisdom daily newsletter, advising operators and food-technology companies, and bringing the perspective of a true industry veteran to every conversation about where Everyday Foodservice is headed next.
